Hello! Just getting my website up and going and wanted to drop in and tell you all about this amazing Stanley Cabinet.
I found this Huge China Cabinet on a local site and just had to see it. So I loaded up the babe and headed on over. The lady who was selling it wasn't ready to part with it, but was moving across country and couldn't take it. As I looked it over, I knew it was an amazing piece, but was completely sold when I saw it was made by Stanley Furniture! It had a funky stained green finish, but I saw the lines, the quality, and the amazing detail. With a little bit of love, it would be completely transformed.
I quickly made arrangements for my husband to bring the truck and take it back to my hoard home.
I scoured the internet finding a color I loved. I wanted it to be sophisticated, work with any decor, but catch any eyes that saw it.
I love how grey works with so many styles; it's neutral, but isn't just black or white.
I saw an amazing China cabinet painted in Gray Tabby from Glidden, and knew it was the perfect color.
Because the gray is so dark, I decided to paint the back in Creamy from Sherwin Williams. I wanted the inside to be light to show off all the amazing things that will be displayed on the inside.
While my paint was drying I scrubbed the hardware with Bar Keepers Friend. It's amazing how much shine comes back to them. I wanted some of the patina left on, but I wanted the hardware to look fresh. I mean, look at that amazing hardware!!
I removed the metal detail in the two glass windows for a more modern sleek look.
Once the paint was dry, I lightly distressed the whole thing, wiped it down and gave it 3 good coats of Polyurethane.
What a difference a few things made to this sophisticated Stanley China Cabinet! I'm so in love with how it turned out!
What do you think? I would love to hear from you!
Hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!
